Again, there's nothing much new to report. Jerid's still holding steady. He did call me at about 11:00 last night and told me that they moved him again at 9:00. To a whole new room on a new floor in a new building. I'll tell you what. I look like such a moron because I walk around the hospital not thinking and have to make U-turns in the middle of halls because I forget that Jerid changed rooms. Again. I'm probably known around the hospital as that weird girl that likes to walk in circles.
The new room is pretty nice though, if small. But the wall in front of the bed (which is about 3 feet from the end of the bed) is almost entirely windows. Two giant ones with just about a 2 foot wide wall in between. Needless to say, the room gets a lot of light. Plus, just to make all you boys out there jealous of Jerid, the helicopter landing pad is on the building next door. So Jerid can watch helicopters land and take off all day. We see people getting in and out. So far, no emergencies, it just looks like doctors catching rides to and fro.
Besides the big room change, Jerid got a picline in today. Also known as a peripheral IV line. For more information on this you can go to the Wikipedia site of the day. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intravenous_therapy
Jerid has had lots of these put in before. No biggie. They usually put these in bedside here at HUP, but Jerid's arm was causing problems (although Jerid said the people that were doing it were idiots) so he had to go down to a procedure room to have it put in. So of course this ate up a large chunk of the day. But now he can hopefully get the central line out of his neck which will make him look prettier and he can wear t-shirts again. Not that those hospital gowns aren't a fabulous fashion statement.
Other than that, we're excited because after begging and pleading with doctors and nutritionists, Jerid finally got put on a regular diet. Before he was on Diabetic and Carb conscious. The food is much better now and he's eating really good. Oh! I almost forgot to tell you. The best part about the room change was that he scored a room with a refrigerator! We had heard of such myths, but never actually seen it. Legend says that there are 2 rooms like this on the floor. Sweet! So now we can keep his Powerade and Ensure cold in the room. Boy does he have it good. Helicopters and cold Ensure. Seriously. Could a boy ask for more?
Because of the busy day, we only got to take one walk... but it was a long one.
I've got nothing else. But I do still miss and love everyone lots.

WOW - glad you were able to be a mythbuster bout the frigerator. "Legend says" - that was way too funny. I laughed out loud at my desk. Well sounds like Jerid can now work on his tan with all the sun light coming it. That would be pretty cool seeing the coptors - as Ty calls them landing and stuff. Fun - Annie would love watching that too.
Well it sounds like things are getting so much better and moving along pretty quickly at least it seems quick from this end of the reading line. Just last week you couldn't even poop in private now you are in a room with a fridge and a view of coptors - look at you go.
As you know we all look forward to your homecoming of you both.
We are continually praying for you. And it seems to be working.
Love you guys
Shannon
