I hear that you've all been on pins and needles waiting for some news, so I won't keep you in suspense any longer... it worked! The doctors were able to get through the airway and put a stent in. (Big sigh of relief.) It all went really well. They found a lot of puss (don't you just love that word?) below the closed area and cleaned it our really good. The stent is not really stable yet and had moved before the doctors were even finished with the procedure. So again, Jerid will have to stay sedated for another 24 hours.
They will probably do one or more bronchs over the next couple of days to make sure everything is still good. There may be more to clean up in there and they may also put a longer stent in. We'll just have to wait and see.
For now though, Jerid is just chillin' on his respirator probably dreaming of pizza and the discovery channel shows he's missing.
We all came home for the day to rest since nothing's happening. They will of course call with any news or if they decide to take him for another bronch today. I'm sure you'll find this shocking, but we haven't been sleeping real well so I think some naps are in order. It's a rainy, yucky day here. Rick and Rose brought the rain you had in Springfield here with them.

Jerid and Marin (and our favorite princess, Annie) have a huge "following" of people that care about them VERY much!
I thought it would be cool if we all had one place to go to keep each other updated on the details. This way they don't have to make a million phone calls every day and we can all hold on to our sanity and send out our positive thoughts for The Smiths!

I pray every day for Jerid and all of you. God does hear and answer prayers. As I always say I'm not sure why bad things happen to good people. This is my first time to write on the blog.
