Happy Halloween!

Trick or treat. Smell my feet. Give me something good to eat!

Hi everybody! Annie here. Mom says she's really tired tonight because I exhaust her, so I thought I'd let you know what happened today.

We went to the hospital this morning like we always do. Mom drove and Grandma was really tense. I help mommy yell at the bad drivers from the backseat. Mommy always drops me and Grandma off at the front of the hospital and then parks. Grandma misses Grandpa because when he was here, he pushed her in a great big stroller while mommy pushed me in mine. Grandma wears a funny looking shoe. It has Velcro just like mine.

Anyway, on the way there, mommy was on the phone and I heard her saying that daddy wasn't having his bronch today. I guess he's having it tomorrow morning first thing. So today he had to work really hard to get strong. Mom said that some speech and swallow people went to see daddy and now he's allowed to eat and drink. But he still has a tube in to feed him too. And daddy got to get out of bed and sit in a chair.

I hung out in our special room with mom and grandma and they took turns playing with me on the computer. I like sesamestreet.com. You can play really cool games with Elmo and Cookie Monster and even listen to music. But mommy made me take a nap when it was her turn to watch me.

We had lunch in the cafeteria where I entertained lots of people. The other day we had dinner there and a lady with a lot of hair gave me a dollar! Anyway, I was really tired and crabby at lunch, but because I still ate good, mommy got me some ice cream. MMmmmmm! After that I was much happier and jibber jabbered the whole way back to the ICU floor.

After lunch, mommy put my Halloween costume on and I got to go and see daddy in it. He thought I looked really cute and I blew him kisses and said meow. The nurses thought I looked cute too. Whenever I go in there they all crowd around me and ask me lots of questions and laugh a lot.

Mommy and Grandma visited daddy some more after that. They said that he was in a good mood and that they're hoping his bronch goes really good. If it does, and he doesn't have to have a tube left in his throat to breathe, then he can get his chest tubes out and work on getting strong. Then he can pick me up and hug and kiss me. And we can all go back home.

Daddy got to have dinner tonight too. He had chicken broth, mashed potatoes, apple juice, cranberry juice, water and pudding. Sounds good to me.

When we got home, mommy gave me a snack and then put my kitty costume back on. The she let me wear her makeup. When she was done putting it on I looked just like a kitty! It made me giggle! Then we went outside and walked around. We went up to people's houses and knocked on their doors. You'll never believe this, but every time the people opened their doors they said "Aaaawww! How cute!" And GAVE ME CANDY! EVERY TIME! We went to about 10 houses and some people let me take as much candy as I wanted. It was really fun. But then I got tired and layed down on someone's porch. So mommy carried me home.

What a fun night! We should do this every year. Well, it's way past my bedtime, and we have to get up early tomorrow for daddy's bronch. Auntie Page already gave me a bath and mommy read to me, so I better go to sleep. Don't worry about me, I'm having lots of fun and making all kinds of new friends and of course eating good. I love you all and miss you very much.
