The Poop Report

Live update! This just in... Jerid pooped!

Jerid called me at about 9:30 this morning and told me to take my time coming in today. He said (whispered) that he was exhausted and wanted to sleep so he didn't need me in there. He said that he pooped last night... unfortunately it was in the bed. Not surprising seeing as how they've been giving him laxatives 2 times a day for 5 days now and he's on a lot of morphine. So I guess all the cleaning up they had to do just wiped him out. Poor poopy-pants Jerid. He'll be better off now though.

Just wanted to spread the good news!

Ms Marin, I am inspired by your family's bravery and devotion. I can't tell you how happy I was to hear that Jarid had had his surgery, and on Liz's birthday - how cool is that! I just wanted to tell you that now you have people praying for Jarid's health and recovery all the way from Ireland =) Take care of yourself lady, you are a great woman. I hope to see you all (maybe for another party!) very very soon. Love, Tracy
P.S. Tell Jarid Happy Pooping! =D

Hi, I never thought I'd be so happy to hear about someone pooping! I called Mandy and told her to make sure she checked the blog, I wanted her to read the Apple story, and I asked her,"Do you want me to tell you, or let it be a surprise?" And she said,"Jerid pooped?!" I guess we were all anxious about that first poop! Good Job Jerid! We love you. Liz

Jerid, I too know the joys of lying in a hospital bed in a mound of soft brown stink. Just after my surgery I called the nurse to help me up for a BM. He assured me that because I was just out of surgery that it was only gas. I told him I was sure that it was more than gas, but he was insistant that was all it was. Boy did I show him.
Love, Tony

Good work...I remember after 8 days in the hospital w/o pooping, I sat on the potty and could not get it all the way through. Had to get assistance from the nurse who gloved up and "took care" of the situation. I know it sound and probably feels yucky to most people but I'm sure the relief at pooping was appreciated by you. I definitely felt my world had kinda righted itself.

PS: After 3 years of witholding, even to the extent of 11 days w/o going and suppositories, Zane has discovered the joys of pooping in the toilet. It is now a daily achievement. Now we are working on him not leaving skid marks on the seat as he scoots over to view his successes after they occur.

Love, Rhonda
