On Sunday, 7-1-07, Jerid underwent another surgery to sew up an area they found was not sewn up and was bleeding internally. We were told that this happens frequently. Surgery was successful.
On Monday morning, 7-2-07, Lara called me to say that the current news is they removed his breathing apparatus and while Jerid still is on oxygen, he is breathing on his own.
Jerid has new parts! Finally!
Jerid and Marin (and our favorite princess, Annie) have a huge "following" of people that care about them VERY much!
I thought it would be cool if we all had one place to go to keep each other updated on the details. This way they don't have to make a million phone calls every day and we can all hold on to our sanity and send out our positive thoughts for The Smiths!
So, let's keep each other up to date and BRING JERID HOME!

I just got this email from Jerid's Aunt Janice:
"Hello! Talked with Rose just a short time ago. They were all in their room resting and having a late lunch. So glad to know Jerid has his tube, garden hose as he called it, out. Know he will feel so much more relaxed. He is such a strong young man with the best support anyone could ever have in Marin, Rose and Richard, the rest of his family and all of you friends. We keep them all in our thoughts and prayers every minute of the day. Know from now on it is a new beginning for all of them.

I am so thankful to hear that Jerid has received his transplant and is doing well.
