Hey everyone! Not too much to say tonight. It was kind of slow at the hospital today.
Unknown to Jerid, he had an appointment to have a chest x-ray in radiology this morning. He had just started eating his breakfast when they came for him, so they said they'd come back.
I got in just as he was finishing breakfast and Scott from physical therapy had just shown up. He, Jerid and I went for a walk. (No walker or oxygen) We went up and down the halls and the boys started talking about heavy metal bands because Jerid was wearing his AC-DC pajama bottoms today. They just kept walking and talking and I got bored and went back to the room.
Jerid came back wiped out, so he rested for awhile. The lung coordinator, Diana came in to check him out. Diana is not only Jerid's coordinator, but his Philly girlfriend. The two of them have gone out to dinner several times since he's been here. Anyway, Diana was full of good news. Everything is looking great.
X-Ray still hadn't shown up to take him down, so the nurse called down and said they'd be up at 1:00. So Jerid skipped his very appetizing hospital lunch. We planned to get something from the cafeteria and take it outside for a picnic. At 2:00 when they still hadn't shown up, we left. We got a cheeseburger and grilled cheese and sat outside. It was a beautiful day. Of course when we got back we were told that X-Ray came for him. Ooops. There we go ticking hospital staff off again.
Jerid was still wiped out and I think slowly got paranoid about feeling so tired and crappy. So the mood was a little down today. But no worries, we made the most of it and hung out in bed watching reruns.
An Ear, Nose & Throat doctor came in and got Jerid all set to have his next surgery on Thursday. He's having the collagen injected in his vocal cord. This should give him his voice back. He says he'll be so much happier when he does.
We were just getting ready to go for a walk when of course the doctor came in. He also said that things are looking good. When Jerid told him how tired he was, the doc wasn't surprised. Jerid had the blood transfusion last night, so his blood counts are in the OK range, but still very low. So of course he's tired! That made Jerid feel better. He needs permission from the doctors to be lazy. The doctor is going to try to get Jerid home on Friday, but he says he's not making any promises.
Jerid called around 8:30 and said that X-Ray came and took him down. Well, that only took 12 hours. I'd say they were working at top speed today.
So that's it. I told you today was pretty uneventful. Jerid must have worn off on me because I'm super tired tonight. I'm off to bed... but of course not before a couple of chapters!

Good morning Marin. Good morning Jerid. I feel like I am kind of living with you two through the blog. Thanks for making this available for all of us. Continued progress is awesome! I hope the collagen injection goes well. I am ready to say hey to my boy. Pray for departure on Friday
Love, Ty
Hey crazy kids!
I love love love reading about how both of you are doing. I really love picturing Jerid in AC/DC pants. Oh my goodness. He cracks me up.
Marin-funny story for you...Scott Coulter was thinking about buying a house on my street. So, Joe Z. and Scott kept talking about all of the times they've driven by my house and I gave them crap for not stopping by. So, guess who stopped by my house last night to have a frosty beverage? Joe Z! It was hilarious. Oh and Grommett and Sluggo wanted me to tell you "Woof. Where is Marin? We miss her."
Love to all! Adrienne
Good Morning you two!! Just wanted you to know we will be thinking about you today and praying that the injection will make a difference. Sounds like things are progressing as they should, and we are all thankful for that. Hang in there. Sure hope you get to blow that place soon and head home.
Raining throughout the night and this morning. Over half an inch so far, which we really need. Kids show this A.M. in the county steer show, so I am off again to the fair. Sale tomorrow.
Love you,
Aunt Janice
Hi! Back from the trip to Myrtle Beach and had a great time with all the grandkids and family. I have been catching up on all your progress and wow it sounds like you are doing great, great. You look really good also and that smile tells it all. I am sorry I didn't get a picture of us girls on the beach so you could laugh your head off, I was afraid I would scare you. I thought of you everyday down there and wish I had a computer but didn't.
Took my dad to the fair yesterday and saw your aunt Janice and talked to her for a little bit and she said you was to have surgery so I thought I had better get on here and read these wonderful blogs about you. Marin you do a wonderful job. I hope the large orange keeps going down. Maybe it would help if you massage it Marin. Just kidding! Jerid you keep taking those walks and going outside and I hope you get home soon. We Love you! And I know your mom is taking wonderful care of Annie and enjoying her. Love, Debbie
Hi Jerid, I just wanted to tell you I will be thinking of you more today and doing some extra dancing for your collagen injection. Marin mentioned your AC/DC pajama's, and I though of you yesterday when I rang up 2 AC/DC hats for someone at Wal-Mart. I told him about you, I just couldn't help it. I hope you don't mind. Sometimes I feel like everyone in the world should know about you, and how wonderful you are! You are amazing, keep up the great work! We love you, Liz
Greetings Jerid and Marin,
I sure hope the collagen does the trick. Also, did you both know that it is okay to give yourself permission to be lazy and get rest. When you think of what you have both been through you should still be recovering. Jerid, you look great in your recent photo! Keep doing what you guys are doing. It's working:)
Love and blessings to you both.
Gail
Hi Marin and Jerid,
I haven't read the blog for a couple of days and it is nice to catch up. Jerid, you've come through so very much and get over each glitch so well. That shows you the power of chanting, dancing and prayer!!! Oh, so sorry, I didn't mean to preach. Jerid, you look so great in that last photo. You in your lab coat with the funny looking pants. You looked like Dr. Kildare on a bad pants day. I'm seeing still another side of you--refusing to follow the nurse's orders! She should have had the treatment ready to go for you when you got back. Is that 2 or 3 strikes Jerid? I loved you so much that it will take a massive amount strikes before you are out.
I so agree with Rose about praying for the donor's family. I did at first but then forgot. I was just thinking of Jerid and watching his progress. Thanks for the reminder Rose. I will pray for them, however I refuse to dance for them. That is reserved for my Jerid only! We Annie's Grannies must stick together.
Love,
Joann, Mom
