Here I am at home. Our Springfield home that is. I have so many anymore. I feel as though I'm leading a double life. I just got in a little while ago and am so sleepy, but I must get the day blogged so I don't forget anything. I'll start at the beginning. All in all it was a pretty slow day. Jerid had a cat scan this morning and all looked well. The procedures are still on tomorrow. He goes down to the O.R. at 3:30. He's mad because he can't eat past midnight tonight. And just when he's finally getting his appetite back!
He went for a nice long walk. About double what he did yesterday... working on those 500 miles! Make sure you read Liz's comment from yesterday's blog. It was awesome and will explain the 500 mile comment. I think it's Jerid's theme song now. Hopefully you can get a better image of him walking from today's picture.
I gave him a bath (who will do them while I'm gone?) and got him back in bad to get another chest tube pulled. Yippee! We had student nurses watching all day and they were pretty excited to watch the pulling. To each his own. He had a lovely lunch of spaghetti and meatballs all ground up and mixed together. Jerid really is a good sport about eating the hospital food.
A chest x-ray, dinner of chicken salad and pudding and then I left for the airport around 6:30.
On my way home from the airport, Jerid called with good news. All of the chanting must have worked, because the doctor came in to tell him that the antibiotic is working. Hooray! They also found fluid on his lung, but aren't too concerned because they're doing the bronchoscopy tomorrow. I think they can fix that in there. He had just taken his nightly Zanex and was off to dream land.
Rachel and Rachel picked me up at the airport and I got leied. Those girls are a trip! They took me to Rose's house where I woke little Annie to give her big kisses and hugs from mommy and daddy. She played for a while and then we came home. The house is beautiful and clean thanks to our cleaning crew. (You guys will continue to do this once a week... right? Right?) As I'm writing this, Annie is still awake in her crib. I'm listening to her talk on the monitor. Hopefully she'll sleep in tomorrow...
That's really about it. I'm so tired that I can't type straight. I have to delete about every 4th word and start over. Ahhh.... my bed waiting upstairs. Night night.

Wow, what a wonderful blog to read!! I am so relieved the antibiotic is working! Yipee! Thank you, Thank you, for still leaving us an update even though you were so tired after such a very long day. I am off to chant for today. We love you, and Jerid, Good Job! Keep up the walking too. We love you! Liz
Hooray! Hooray! The meds are working! That is such awesome news.
Today will be full of extra chanting and positive thoughts that all goes well with Jerid's surgery. Jerid, you have done such an amazing job so far! This surgery will be cake!
Marin-I will clean your house every day if you want!
Can't wait to see you tomorrow.
Love to all! Adrienne
Look at my boy walking! Go J! This blog is my morning smile. So happy to see the progress and I know it feels good to have Annie back in your arms Marin.
Adrienne. Your comments are fantastic. You are such a great friend to Marin and Jerid.
love ty
Marin,
I am so glad to hear things are progressing well for Jerid. You are an amazing family and Love sure surrounds you all.
Love Marsha
Jerid you are so awesome!! You have no idea how much you mean to everyone and how much you are loved. All of these comments are only a fraction of how much you are loved. There is no way for anyone to express in words how much you mean to every single person you know. I wish I could be there with you. Keep up the good work, it's only going to get better. Love, Tony
GO JERID!!! We should all be doing the walking thing. Marin, glad you are with Annie for a little while. Rick and Rose you are the BEST!!! Love you all and you are in our thoughts and prayers EVERY day!! Aunt Linda and Uncle Don
Testing.....Testing......Testing...Can you hear me now? I don't know if I'm doing this right or not.

I just gave myself a pat on the back for figuring out how to post my comments. I know I could do it differently but Lara can show me how later today.
It is unbeleiveable how many people love and adore you, Jerid. No matter what our relationship to you is, we feel so much closer to you...More like a Mom, Dad, Brother or Sister. We Love you so much. I don't know about this "Chanting" thing you participants engage in, but it seems to be working, so GO FOR IT! Myself, I Pray. Sometime this afternoon I will do the old American Indian - "Sunshine-Get-Well-Soon" dance. I hope it is as effective as everyone's "Chanting". I have lot's to say since I've been silent for so long. Tony, after reading your comment, I saw your sweet soft side. It's nice to know that men can express their feelings too.
O.K. I'll let someone else have a turn here.
You are doing a great job Jerid, keep it up! Marin, you are doing a great job at handling all those different "hats" you wear. And Annie, you are doing a fantastic job at being soooo cute, cuddly, entertaining, making everyone happy when they are with you, and giving good kisses and hugs! Keep up the good work!
Love and Kisses,
Grandma Joann, Sandy, Owl, Snow White, and last but not least, your brother Charlie
